Feeding The Hungry
The Pebbles & Ripples Foundation was established on 21-07-2020 in Oud Beijerland, The Netherlands.
Our organisation supports various projects in South Africa; our main goal being the provision of food and clothing to those in need.
Mission
Our Foundation is committed to feeding the hungry by means of food packages.
In addition, projects are supported that provide shelter and daytime activities to the community.
Our motto is Mother Teresa’s famous statement:
“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples”.
We believe that every little act of kindness can make a difference in people’s lives.
Our Vision 2020 - 2022
Robbie and Jolanda Du Randt (both South African by birth) lived in the Netherlands for more than 20 years. In 2017 they decided to return to their roots, hereby emigrating back to South Africa. You can read more about them on the page “Robbie & Jolanda.”. Once back home, they were confronted with the enormous poverty suffered by many South African people and they consequently decided to do something about it. They then started distributing blankets and food packages, but because the need proved to be so overwhelming, they decided to set up a Foundation in order to provide help on a larger scale. As founders, they are currently responsible for the practical daily management of Pebbles & Ripples in South Africa.
Goals
Our objectives are as follows:

To provide food to at least 100 people every month

To establish an effective distribution network, hereby ensuring our food parcels reach the appropriate destinations in an orderly fashion

To generate funds and support globally to sustain the organisation

To keep our sponsors updated and informed in a timely manner

To provide support and guidance to other projects that also help underprivileged people
Finance
The Pebbles & Ripples Foundation was established to combat poverty in South Africa (please see footnotes below for articles concerning this serious issue). More than 20% of South Africans currently live below the poverty line. That percentage is now increasing rapidly due to the Covid-19 crisis. Day labourers can no longer find work to feed and sustain their families. Many people are left destitute and starving. We believe that every euro donated can make a difference. We work entirely with volunteers, so all funds can be used for food packages and resources to help those in need.
Currently we receive about 1000 euros in donations monthly. We hope to increase this amount so that we can help more people and also support certain projects regularly. The ANBI status also makes it much easier for companies to donate to us and will therefore be very helpful in generating additional funds.
The foundation does not save money or build up financial assets. All donated funds are used for the mission every month.
Remuniration Policy
The directors do not receive any remuneration from the foundation. They may possibly receive an expense allowance which is paid quarterly and the amount of which is determined annually by the board, if necessary in return for the costs they reasonably incurred in the performance of their duties. They may, if eligible, receive an attendance fee that is not excessive. Attendance fees are remuneration (s) for preparing for and attending a meeting and the like.

Het Voeden van de allerarmsten
Stichting Pebbles & Ripples is opgericht op 21-07-2020 te Oud Beijerland(statutaire zetel). Onze stichting is ondersteunend aan verschillende projecten in Zuid Afrika, waar we als hoofddoel hebben om de allerarmsten te voorzien van voedsel en kleding.
Missie
De missie van Stichting Pebbles en Ripples is om projecten te ondersteunen in Zuid Afrika, die als doel hebben om de allerarmsten te voorzien van voedsel en kleding. De stichting zet zich in om de allerarmsten te voeden, door middel van voedselpakketten. Daarnaast worden projecten ondersteund die voorzien in onderdak, opvang en dagbesteding.
Ons motto is de uitspraak van Moeder Teresa:
‘’I alone cannot change the world but every pebble cast across the water can create many ripples’’.
We geloven dat elk kleine beetje wat we kunnen doen een verschil kan maken in mensen levens.
Onze Visie 2020 - 2022
Het echtpaar dat in Zuid Afrika de zaken waarneemt, Robbie en Jolanda, hebben tientallen jaren in Nederland gewoond en zijn sinds 2017 teruggegaan naar hun roots, hun hele verhaal kan je lezen op de pagina “Robbie & Jolanda”. Geconfronteerd met de enorme armoede om zich heen hebben ze besloten hier wat aan te doen. Momenteel resulteert dat in het uitdelen van voedselpakketten en dekens. Omdat de armoede zo groot is, hebben we besloten deze stichting op te richten om het naar een volgend niveau te brengen
Doelstelling
De doelstellingen die we daarvoor geformuleerd hebben zijn als volgt:

Zorgen voor een goed distributienetwerk zodat voedsel komt op de plekken waar het moet komen

Werven van nieuwe fondsen in Nederland

Om onze sponsors op de hoogte te houden van alles wat wij doen

Ondersteunen van projecten die kansarmen opvangen en begeleiden
Financiën
Stichting Pebbles en Ripples is opgericht om armoede tegen te gaan (zie voetnoot voor enkele artikelen over de armoede in Zuid Afrika). In Zuid Afrika leeft meer dan 20% van de mensen onder de armoede grens. Nu door Covid-19 loopt dat percentage snel op. Dagloners kunnen niet meer werken, waardoor hele gezinnen zonder inkomsten komen te zitten en daardoor honger lijden. We geloven dat elke euro die gedoneerd wordt een verschil kan maken. Doordat we volledig met vrijwilligers werken, kan elke euro besteedt worden aan voedselpakketten en middelen om de kansarmen te helpen.
Momenteel wordt er elke maand zo’n 1000 euro gedoneerd en we hopen dit bedrag te vergroten zodat we meer mensen kunnen helpen en bepaalde projecten maandelijks kunnen ondersteunen. De ANBI status zal hieraan bijdragen, doordat het ook voor bedrijven makkelijker wordt om een donatie te doen.
De Stichting maakt geen gebruik van reserves of spaart geen vermogen, elke maand wordt het gedoneerde geld besteedt aan de missie.
Beloningsbeleid
De bestuurders genieten ten laste van de stichting geen beloning doch kunnen ter vergoeding van de door hen in de uitoefening van hun functie redelijkerwijs gemaakte kosten een onkostenvergoeding krijgen, welke per kwartaal wordt uitgekeerd en waarvan de hoogte zo nodig jaarlijks door het bestuur wordt vastgesteld.Ook mogen ze, als ze daarvoor in aanmerking komen, een vacatiegeld ontvangen dat niet bovenmatig is.
Onder vacatiegeld te verstaan vergoeding(en) voor het voorbereiden en bijwonen van een vergadering en dergelijke.
